'The Queens Heads’

& 'Affirmations of the Maimed Debauchee’

Two newly commissioned pieces of writing to be presented from October-November 2012.

To be presented upon the same contrasting bill of play.

‘The Queens Heads’
Brings together Anne Boleyn & Katherine Howard, two of England's most tragic Queens. Both were Queens and cousins, both were pronounced the love of their monarch’s life and both were beheaded by their lord and master on charges of adultery…
It sees them spar in a contest of moral superiority and justifications as they relay their time spent amidst the most dangerous court in Europe.
Tudor history brought to life in vivid intimacy.

‘Affirmations of the Maimed Debauchee’
Gives the audience a glimpse into the world the infamous courtier, poet, and libertine extreme John Wilmot 2nd Earl of Rochester; the wine, the whores, the actresses, the willing young men… the syphilis!
A fast paced romp through the back alleys and palaces of Charles II’s England;
Not recommend for those of a sensitive disposition!

Jadis Shadows Productions Autumn Season is Announced!

18th, 19th & 20th October 2012

ELECTRA

Jadis Shadows Productions presents a new and evocative adaptation of Sophocles’ classic tragedy presented as an intense, site specific, installation performance.

“Stirring up dark & bloodied waters”

Victim or persecutor?
Lost child or deceptive sadist?
Courageous rebel or compulsive liar?
You decide, but choose wisely; because once your mind is made up there is no turning back…
Join Jadis Shadows for a master class in manipulation from one of literatures most complex anti-heroines as she pulls all who cross her path into a vicious cycle of anger, violence and despair.

The House of Atreus has long been cursed with bitter rivalries, barbarism and murder. Electra, daughter of the tyrant King Agamemnon, is forced to live like a servant under the merciless scrutiny of her fathers killers.
For years she has vainly plotted against her devious mother Clytemnestra and her mother’s lover Aegithus. Just as desolation threatens to consume her, hope returns in the form of her long lost brother Orestes… heir to the throne.
Whether a victim deserves their fate, whether a soul caught within the eye of a storm can ever escape, is irrelevant. In the House of Atreus nothing and no one can stand in the way of revenge.
